Harry Maguire
Harry Maguire is an English professional footballer who currently plays as a centre-back for both the English national team and Manchester United in the English Premier League.
Maguire was born on March 5, 1993, in Sheffield, England. He started his youth career with Sheffield United and eventually made his way to the first team in 2011. After spending several seasons with Sheffield United, he moved to Hull City in 2014. Maguire's strong performances at Hull City earned him a move to Leicester City in 2017.
At Leicester City, Maguire established himself as one of the most promising centre-backs in the Premier League, and his performances earned him a call-up to the England national team. He played a key role in England's run to the semi-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where they were eventually knocked out by Croatia.
In the summer of 2019, Maguire became the most expensive defender in football history at the time, when Manchester United signed him for a reported fee of £80 million. Since joining Manchester United, Maguire has been a regular starter for the club and has also been appointed as the club's captain.
Maguire is known for his physicality, aerial ability, and his leadership skills on and off the field. He is also a threat on set-pieces, often scoring goals or providing assists for his teammates. Maguire is also comfortable on the ball and has a good passing range, which makes him a valuable asset in possession.
Off the field, Maguire is known for his charitable work and is actively involved in various initiatives aimed at helping disadvantaged children and young people. In 2020, he also donated £40,000 to provide free meals for vulnerable families in his hometown of Sheffield during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Maguire has had a successful career so far, having won the EFL Championship with Hull City in 2015-16 and also being named in the PFA Team of the Year for the 2018-19 season. With Manchester United, he has reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League and the English League Cup.
Maguire's performances have also earned him recognition as one of the best centre-backs in the world, and he has been included in the UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season and the UEFA Europa League Squad of the Season in the past.
